Body and Chassis assembly

I now moved the chassis to Finishing Edge for the big day. The body had spent almost eighteen months on the rotisserie. We removed the body from the rotisserie using Mikes two post lift. We then rolled the chassis underneath and lowered the body down.

Bottom view

I took some photos of the bottom while the assembled car was still on the lift. The exhaust system was made in Cleveland. I chose not to put the resonators in. The mufflers have two chambers instead of stock which were three.

Doors, fenders and trunk

The bracing for the door openings was removed and the doors were fit. The final sanding will now be done. The trunk lid was installed. We dry fit the front fenders to check the body lines. They were removed and will be painted separately along with the hood.
It is starting to look like a car again!

Three coats of color and three coats of clear. The paint job is beautiful. Mike and the guys at Finishing Edge have exceeded my expectations. Now back home for all the assembly work.

Home again,Home again!

January 28,2009

Since March of 2008 I have had her home. I just fiddled around a little last spring with the engine compartment and the interior. I did not work on it all summer. I started working on her again in September. My friend Jack Austin has been helping me allot with all the details. These photos show the Dynamat in the cockpit and the doors being finished.
